The author of this art illustration collection, 마키토이 , used to be an illustrator at Naver and later became a full-time freelance creator. In order to avoid a loose life, he established his own daily rhythm, creating and living like completing homework every day. Since 2020, he has created a work at a fixed time every day, adhering to the belief of "in the process of repetition" and "the present me is made up of ordinary daily life". Even if it was a difficult process, he survived step by step, and these times made him who he is today.

People who like to grow plants may call themselves the ones who take care of the plants, but for 마키토이, it seems that they are the ones who are taken care of by these plants.

She started this 365-day project in 2022 - using plants as materials, creating works every day and recording them with notes, which were compiled into this illustrated essay collection.

Some of the plants presented in the book are real, while others only exist in imagination. 마키토이 uses paper cutting and collage techniques to create his works. In order to find the colors he wants to express, he personally visited Chungjeong-ro and Dongdaemun to select materials, showing his rigorous and delicate personality in creation, which is also reflected in his works and texts.
