Six years after her novel "Mysterious Journey That Is Useless to Understand: The Reasons Why Novelist Kim Young-ha Travels", Kim Young-ha has released a new prose work <단한번의삶>, tentatively translated as "Only This Life".
This book is a collection of essays serialized by Kim Young-ha in the e-newsletter "영하의날씨" (Young-ha's Weather) in 2024. It shows Kim Young-ha's more private and sincere side. When Kim Young-ha removes the identity of "writer Kim Young-ha" and becomes an ordinary person with only one life like us, how does he tell the real moments and deep thoughts in his life experience.
The book contains 14 essays, ranging from family stories to life stories, touching on the uncertainty, unfairness and disorder in life. These texts do not provide frivolous comfort, nor do they tell you ready-made answers. Instead, through frank and calm writing, they lead readers to reflect: "How little do we understand each other, or even ourselves?" and ask: "How should we spend this life in front of us?"
Dimensions: 13.7 x 19.6 x 2.2 cm | 200 pages hardcover edition
